M 6.8 Earthquake near Al Haouz, Morocco

On September 8, 2023, a M6.8 earthquake struck Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, roughly 75 km southwest of Marrakech. The shallow earthquake caused severe shaking across the region, resulting in widespread building damage.
