The Highest-Resolution Regional Shaking Data
Safehub’s Shake Network, powered by the Global Earthquake Model’s (GEM) OpenQuake engine, provides scientifically robust, globally scalable shaking data.
The Global Standard for Earthquake Impact Data
Safehub’s Shake Network combines data from Safehub’s growing network of proprietary seismic sensors with existing government and public seismic networks to produce highly localized regional shaking maps.
The network is powered by the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation’s OpenQuake engine, a leading open-source earthquake hazard and risk modeling framework. Together, these data sources enable Shake Network to deliver scientifically robust shaking information that can scale across regions, supporting faster emergency response, more informed recovery decisions, and enhanced parametric insurance solutions.
Precision Data for Parametric Insurance
For parametric insurance applications, Safehub’s Shake Network goes beyond the generalized shaking categories shown on the public-facing maps below. It provides detailed, grid-level shaking data with quantitative engineering metrics such as: Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA), Spectral Acceleration at 0.3 seconds (SA0.3), and Spectral Acceleration at 1.0 seconds (SA1.0)
These objective measurements provide the precision needed to define and evaluate policy triggers, helping insurers and insureds determine whether predefined shaking thresholds have been met with greater transparency and confidence.
Mexico Selects Shake Network for Nationwide Parametric Earthquake Program
Safehub’s Shake Network is being used as the triggering mechanism for Mexico’s nationwide parametric earthquake program, developed with Liberty Mutual Reinsurance.
